Many Republicans have begun fearing that the ‘Lone-Star-State’ might very well flip to BLUE in this election cycle.
One of the primary reasons for this fear is that millions of illegal aliens have traversed the Rio Grande River since Joe Biden became President. Many on the ‘right’ believe that these illicit crossers will be able to vote in the upcoming election for President, Senate, and Congressional seats. However, the conservative Republican Governor of Texas (Greg Abbott) decided to circumvent this issue by signing into law (to the dismay of the Democrats) legislation that prevents illegal aliens from voting in Texas. In February of 2023, the law took effect, which requires that you be a citizen and provide a photo ID (from a state or federal agency) to vote in an election in the State of Texas.
This signing into law is particularly relevant because if these millions of illegal aliens were able to vote, and with Texas possessing 38 electoral votes, this likely would have wiped out any hopes the Republicans have of winning in November of 2024.
While Arizona, New Mexico, and California certainly have their fair share of illegal crossings, Texas seems to be “Ground Zero” for the most. We have all seen the video footage and heard testimony from Congressional Representatives and Senators who have visited McAllen, Harlingen, and Del Rio, Texas, and witnessed the thousands wading across the river.
It is widely known that since Joe Biden became President, he has “for the most part” flagrantly ignored the United States immigration laws, and because of this, and his all but advertising to the world that our borders are open and America will support you if you come illegally, the Southern Borders of our nation have been inundated with millions of illegal aliens from some 140 different countries.
Going back to the Obama Administration, Democrats have attempted to sell to the American people that our “Immigration Laws” were broken, and this was the primary reason our borders were flooded with so many illegal aliens attempting (and in most cases succeeding) to cross into our country. What this “flaunting” of the law has produced is a mountain of illegal drugs flowing into the United States, trafficking of children and young girls and boys for sex slaves, and any other despicable act that one can think of involving humanity. Yet the Democrats keep trying to tell America that we are humanitarians and that these people are from dangerous and impoverished nations where their lives are at risk.
A few short years ago, most polling showed that American’s concerns revolved around COVID, jobs, education, and medical care. Illegal immigration was far down the list of the average American’s worries. Today, we have Illegal Aliens in either the top spot or, indeed, within the top three spots, depending on which poll you’re looking at. The other two are inflation/economy and a nuclear World War III.
What began as a master plan for Democrats to reach out and seem more humanitarian than Republicans has turned into a ‘nightmare’ for the party of donkeys. Cities such as New York City, Chicago, Minneapolis, and many more have become overrun with illegals and are bankrupting these “sanctuary cities” of cash and space to house the flood of humanity, not to mention turning their communities into the world’s largest trash dumps. Border towns such as McAllen, Del Rio, Laredo, and many more Texas towns and cities have also been inundated with much higher crime rates and issues involving housing the criminal trespassers.
What Joe Biden’s illegal border policy has succeeded in doing is driving not only Americans to distraction, but he has now the distinction of being a President with the lowest approval numbers (surpassing Herbert Hoover during the Great Depression) in history since records have been kept.
Normally, the topics of abortion, Social Security (and the evil Republicans taking granny off it), and lowering taxes for Exxon, WalMart, etc. are subjects where the Democrats score well. With the (seemingly) unlimited funding for the war in Ukraine, waffling on Israel, high gasoline prices, inflation at the grocery store, and now America being invaded, the GOP is poised to recapture the White House, the Senate, and expand their headcount in the House of Representatives.
Arguably, New York City is one of the world’s greatest metropolises. The Democrat Mayor of the Big Apple is now on national television begging for the flow of illegals to stop and for Biden to help fund this humanitarian disaster currently transpiring in his city. Remember, it was Eric Adams (the Mayor) who campaigned for New York City to be the beacon for a sanctuary city. They loved the world and were welcoming the world to come to Times Square. Now, the world has arrived, thanks to Governor Greg Abbott of Texas. He granted the Mayor’s wish, and now the world sees that unlimited immigration doesn’t work.
Republican candidate for the nomination Former President Donald Trump’s primary campaign pledges is to begin the ‘largest deportation’ in our history. Due to the plague of high crime, schools being shuttered (so the illegals have a roof over their head), city services being cramped, and jobs being lost, this campaign rhetoric is being received with cheers at his rallies.
The Democrats wanted voters, they wanted open borders, they wanted a wave of illegal immigration to grant amnesty too, and now they have it. Their short-term idea (or long term-depending on who you talk with) has flipped, and now they are about to lose everything.
Texans have had enough and are not tolerating it anymore. The age-old cry from the Lone Star State of “Remember the Alamo” has been brought back, and this time, the Texans plan on winning this battle.
