Yesterday, I received one of the most troubling phone calls I believe I’ve ever received.
The call came in from a Tennessee State Trooper who had just returned from spending the day with two FEMA representatives in Eastern Tennessee. Apparently, these two ladies had complained to the Tennessee State Troopers (Highway Patrol) that they needed protection to tour the area, which was hit hard by Hurricane Helene, and to distribute the necessary information to the residents to receive emergency assistance from FEMA. It’s not a problem, the Captain of the Troopers told them. So far, so good.
The caller and his partner teamed up with two ladies from New York City (one was African American, and the other was Hispanic) and proceeded to the small towns around Newport, Tennessee, in the Smokey Mountains. At this point, they were driving around these small communities of which many homes were on gravel roads and up in the mountains.
As has been reported for decades, these residents in the Appalachian and Smokey Mountains are not exactly wealthy or even middle-class in terms of income. Their homes are not plush, and many live in mobile homes with cars parked in the front yard. Almost immediately, these women began making insulting and derogatory comments about the citizens of this area of the country. They talked about how uneducated they were, how they could live in shacks, and how dumb they were for living in this area of East Tennessee. But it gets worse!
The more they insulted and talked, the angrier (my caller) became. He tried to explain that they were all good people just trying to survive in life and make it the best way they could.
As they approached the area where these ladies were supposed to get out, knock on the door, and explain the benefits FEMA would provide for their damaged homes and such, the more the ladies complained. As with most homes in this area of the nation, these residents own dogs, chickens, and other animals. The caller (Trooper) would pull up to a home, and if they had a dog, the ladies would not get out. They spent their time in front of the house complaining about the dog and the stupidity of the residents for “living like that,” and that was even if the dog was standing in front of the SUV with its tail wagging. In most cases, “when they did stop,” it was the Trooper who had to get out and deliver the information to the resident.
What ended up happening that so infuriated this Trooper was that when they approached a home that had a “Trump/Vance” sign in its yard, the ladies immediately ordered the Troopers to drive on by and said that these citizens “GOT NO HELP.”
For the last several weeks, I honestly wanted to believe this could not happen in our nation. I read many posts on X (formerly Twitter) about these happenings in North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee but did not want to believe them. Unfortunately, a very, very reliable source who witnessed it firsthand has confirmed this for me.
This leftist, Marxist government of Biden/Harris is actually abusing victims of this horrific weather event all because of the way they vote. This is reprehensible and cruel. One funny note to this story. They pulled up to one home east of Newport, and a gentleman came out, identified himself to the Trooper (who was in uniform), found out who these ladies in the SUV were, and very unceremoniously told them they could shove their money where the sun doesn’t shine. He then thanked the Trooper, turned, and walked back into his home.
The arrogance of these two ladies is almost mind-bending. As the Trooper told me, he would be more afraid to walk through the Bronx than Eastern Tennessee. How they could come down from New York City and insult these people (who don’t rob, rape, and murder) is beyond his ability to understand. This is yet more proof that Democrats don’t care about the average citizen.
