I last wrote about the amount of work the Tea Party Patriots and Tea Party Patriots Citizens Fund accomplished in the year 2015, leading up to the election year. For 2016 this service continued in outstanding levels, and I would like to share a summary of those with you, and then talk about moving forward in 2017 and beyond.

Jenny Beth Martin’s leadership always seems untiring. Ms. Martin leads by example.  She works seven days a week, meeting with the major players within the movement, local groups, making phone calls, working with our technology team, sending emails, and writing op-eds. Jenny Beth is consistently focused on assisting, and strengthening the grassroots throughout our movement within our nation; often working up to 100 hours each week.

Some of the things; the Tea Party Patriots and the Tea Party Patriots Citizen Fund continued in 2016 were; preparing and hosting our weekly webinar every Sunday for local grassroots leaders from around the country. This action is where Local Coordinators from all across the nation received and share successful practices, received legislative updates, information, strategies, and issue “call to actions.” Every week, these vital issues are still ongoing and affect our local grassroots at the national level.

Our website, www.teapartypatriots.org, is filled with resources for registered conservative grassroots groups and supporters. You’ll find contact information for communicating with your legislators, a variety of educational videos, archived legislative updates, and toolkits developed by the Tea Party Patriots support team.

These contain assistance on national issues needing attention, such as details of the issues, key talking points, how to write letters to the editor, samples of letters to your elected officials and social media posts, and much more.

The Tea Party Patriots also has a Field Team that is always available and is in direct contact with local groups nationwide, helping and assisting wherever possible.

On the website there are Constitutional resources available in letters, articles, websites, and an 8 part, “Making of America Educational Series” that the Tea Party Patriots along with the National Center for Constitutional Studies put together. Also on the website, there is a suggested reading list and a downloadable edition of the new Tea Party Patriots Handbook, which was put together from best practices of local groups from around the country.

The Tea Party Patriots Citizens Fund, (during this past election season), made over 2,000,000 volunteer phone calls into PA, FL, OH, and NC alone. These devoted volunteers knocked on over 100,000 doors in PA, FL, OH, NC, and CA.

In addition; they delivered over 100,000 hand-written letters and postcards to voters in Pennsylvania and produced over 500,000 traditional political mail pieces in support of Donald Trump. If that wasn’t enough, the volunteers placed over 6,700,000 Robocalls for him as well.

Our Tea Party Patriots Support Team also visited “face to face” in over 20 states to support local grassroots rallies and events. Jenny Beth Martin visited 17 of those herself. We recorded over 100,200 volunteers from all over the country who aided in these efforts, actually showing “We the People,” being engaged in 2016; Salute!

Moving forward in 2017 the Tea Party Patriots are focused on several critical areas if importance.

Obviously repealing ObamaCare is first on the list. Then ending the Congressional exemption from Obamacare or any law that forces the common citizen to comply, while unfairly exempting Congress from something such as the burdensome health care law.

Also on this list is paving the way for meaningful tax reform, confirming President Trump’s nominees and ushering in a new presidential administration that respects the rule of law and the Constitution.

Lastly and maybe the most important issue is; confirming a conservative Supreme Court Justice to replace the late Antonin Scalia.

On local and state levels, many areas in the country are reassessing their groups and state coalitions to better prepare for the next steps of engagement and structure of our continued effort to take back our Constitutional Republic from this Constitutional eroding socialistic democracy we have now.

For instance, the Iowa Grassroots Coalition brought in the Center for Self-Governance (www.centerforselfgovernance.com), and began training local activists to be more knowledgeable and more engaged directly with the state house.

Another great example comes from the state of California. I just returned from a meeting in Northern California where about 80 were in attendance and many groups were represented, have acknowledged the need to re-assess and re-establish goals and focus on building a strong Northern California coalition. It was really exciting to be a part of.

In Southern California around the San Bernardino area, John Berry, (Tea Party Patriots Southern California State Coordinator), has been working very hard over the past 3 years in establishing a very strong network of determined conservative grassroots groups, with great success.

Mr. Berry told me that since May he has experienced a surge of interest and motivation from patriotic citizens wanting to help. “These are political rookies who are determined to do something – anything – to save our country.”

Mr. Berry said, “My goal since the election has been to try to harness their energy and keep them engaged.” This speaks true of like-minded patriots all over our nation doing the same thing. He also stated, “They want to stay engaged but are not sure how we try to give them options.”

In closing, a good suggestion for local, state, and federal focus is to:

  1. Assess your group and its membership’s gifts and talents, where your strengths and weaknesses can be identified.
  2. Use the Tea Party Patriots handbook to rework as needed and create a stronger more active group.
  3. On the state level, bring in the Center for Self-Governance and go through their 5 level training to become more active in your state, and develop a knowledge and relationships with state legislators. Continue to develop a stronger coalition and group network statewide.
  4. On the federal level, register your teams with some proven national groups like the Tea Party Patriots, the Heritage Foundation and the Concerned Veterans of America. Begin to capitalize on their resources for your groups, as you continue to strengthen the people’s movement as well.

Until next time~
